Introducing The Gluten Free Directory 🌟

With May marking Coeliac Awareness Month, we wanted to do something extra special…

If you’ve been following our journey from the start, you’ll know that our original idea for Gluten Free Glee was to create a TripAdvisor-style review platform for eating out gluten free. Grabbing a bite to eat with loved ones is the highlight of many peoples week but we all know that eating out when you’re following a strict gluten free diet can be really stressful. The Gluten Free Glee restaurant finder will be a must-have to help you search, discover and review places based on their gluten free friendliness.

Whilst this is still our focus, and an early version of the app is being tested, we have shifted focus to solving other problems faced by those living gluten free - such as shopping, travelling and more. Simply because after lots of research and feedback, we realised that there was so much more we could be doing to help the gluten free community.

Over the past year, we’ve spoken with hundreds of gluten free businesses, some big, some small, all of whom produce fantastic products and deserve to be known by everyone living gluten free. But so many of these simply wonderful brands go unheard of or are overlooked in favour of boring supermarket own brand products.

Whilst our eating out app might come in handy for some of these businesses when we launch later in the year, there are so many great gluten free businesses selling online or in shops that wouldn’t benefit at all. That’s why we’ve built the Gluten Free Directory, an online search engine designed to help the millions of people living gluten free to find great GF businesses, products and services!

We’re constantly being asked for recommendations for all things gluten free and we also see a lot of similar questions being asked on Facebook groups or forums. But these posts often get lost within the feed and a lot of the time, admins are against businesses advertising on their groups which means people struggle to discover all of these great businesses and miss out on so much!

The Gluten Free Directory has been designed to be the go-to place for all things gluten free…

🏥 Fed up of waiting around for a GP appointment to discuss your coeliac diagnosis or other health queries? We have a specialist Dietitians just waiting to speak to you on the Gluten Free Directory!

🍩 Or maybe you’re just really missing freshly baked bread, croissants, doughnuts and other sweet treats? You guessed it, you’ll find an array of these with online delivery on the Gluten Free Directory!

So, how does the Directory work then? Well, it couldn’t be easier! Simply use the search bar on the Directory home page to find exactly what you’re looking for or use our category tags to filter your search. If you’re looking for a specific area to visit, then add the location or use ‘online’ to find businesses that will deliver straight to your door.

Once you’ve found something that tickles your taste buds, then click onto them and you’ll see lots more information linking through to their website and social media. Then why not drop them a message to find more details or place an order, sit back and wait for the doorbell to ring - by this, I mean, stand at the window, dribbling with anticipation for the postman to pull up outside…

This is just the start of the Directory and it won’t be long until we have even more businesses and categories featured on there, all to help you find great gluten free products and services without having to scroll through hundreds of Facebook or review pages to find the right fit.

We’ve also launched our Digital Allergy Translation Cards which are completely FREE and are available to download to your Apple/Google wallet or as an image on your phone. 📱
